What I discovered about NAD+ completely changed the way I think about energy, skin and aging.
For a long time, I avoided looking too closely at myself in the mirror.
It wasn’t because I hated getting older.
I actually felt grateful for everything those years had given me — my family, my career, the experiences, the confidence I never had in my 20s.
But somewhere along the way, I started feeling like the woman looking back at me was aging much faster than the woman I still felt like inside.
My skin looked dull and tired.
The firmness I once had seemed to disappear little by little.
My hair didn’t feel quite the same.
And even my body seemed to lose some of that youthful appearance I had always taken for granted.
But what bothered me most wasn’t a wrinkle.
It was how tired I looked — even on days when I didn’t feel tired.
I was getting ready to meet a friend for lunch when I caught myself standing inches away from the bathroom mirror.
I pulled gently at the skin around my cheeks.
I looked at my neck.
Then my arms.
And I remember thinking:
“When did this happen?”
I had expensive creams sitting on my bathroom counter.
Serums.
Moisturizers.
Masks.
I had tried practically everything that promised brighter, younger-looking skin.
Some made my skin feel softer.
But none of them answered the question that had started bothering me:
What if I was focusing on the outside… when the real changes were happening inside my body?
That question sent me down a rabbit hole.
Until then, I had never even heard the term.
But NAD+ is a molecule naturally found inside our cells, where it plays an important role in cellular energy and other biological processes.
What caught my attention was that NAD+ levels can decline with age.
Suddenly, I became fascinated by the idea of supporting aging from within rather than relying exclusively on what I could put on my skin.
And that’s how I discovered NMN.
NMN — nicotinamide mononucleotide — is a compound the body can use as a precursor in the production of NAD+.
I wasn’t looking for a miracle.
I simply wanted something that made sense as part of the bigger picture of taking care of myself as I got older.
As I started researching, I realized there were countless NMN supplements online.
That’s when I came across something different.
It was called Youth Within.
What caught my attention was that its formula wasn’t focused on NMN alone.
Alongside NMN, the formula included nutrients and ingredients such as hydrolyzed marine collagen, hydrolyzed keratin, hyaluronic acid, beta-carotene, vitamin A and vitamin C.
In other words, it combined ingredients associated with cellular and nutritional support with ingredients commonly used to support skin, hair and overall beauty from within.
That was exactly the kind of approach I had been looking for.
Instead of another cream promising to temporarily change what I saw in the mirror…
I wanted to start thinking about beauty from the inside out.
I didn’t expect to wake up looking 25 again.
That wasn’t the goal.
I simply wanted to feel like I was finally doing something for myself that went beyond covering up the signs of getting older.
And over time, my routine changed.
I became more consistent about hydration.
I paid more attention to what I was eating.
I started prioritizing sleep.
And Youth Within became part of that daily routine.
The biggest change, though, was how I started looking at aging.
I stopped treating every line on my face like something that needed to be erased.
Instead, I started asking:
“What can I do today to support the way I want to look and feel in the years ahead?”
I still have expression lines.
I still have days when I wake up tired.
And I’m certainly not trying to become the woman I was at 25.
I just want to look in the mirror and recognize the vibrant woman I still feel like inside.
For me, discovering the connection between cellular health, nutrition and the way our bodies change with age completely changed my approach.
If you’re over 40 or 50 and you’ve noticed that creams and serums alone don’t seem to address everything you’re seeing in the mirror…
It may be worth learning about what’s happening beneath the surface.
That’s exactly where my own journey started.
And it’s why Youth Within caught my attention in the first place.
